Birmingham's community supports its healthcare and NHS

Birmingham is rightly proud of its healthcare and does all it can to support the work of the NHS.  Take our feature produced with the help of University Hospitals Birmingham Charity.

University Hospitals Birmingham Charity is the official charity of University Hospitals Birmingham. UHB Charity is an umbrella charity, made up of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity, Heartlands Hospital Charity, Good Hope Hospital Charity and Solihull Hospital Charity.

You can find out more about their work by taking the links, posts and related features included here. The charity works across these sites to support patients, families and staff at their hospitals by providing 'added extras' that are over and above that which is provided by the NHS.

In 2012,  Her Majesty The Queen, as part of her Diamond Jubilee Tour, officially named the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB).

Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB) with over 1 million patient visits every year is a centre of excellence. It has the largest single-floor critical care department in Europe, is the UK’s Military Hospital and is one of only six solid-organ transplant centres in the country.

Birmingham is rightly proud of the pioneering contributions made at its own hospitals.

Unable to display at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2020 due to the pandemic, a wonderful floral tribute was created in Victoria Square as a thank you from the city to the wonderful work of the NHS.
